Gidan Dan Hausa
📍 Kano, Kano
A mud-brick house built in 1905 for colonial education officer Hanns Vischer, nicknamed 'Dan Hausa' for his knowledge of Hausa culture. It is now a cultural centre and museum showing traditional Hausa architecture, pottery, and old weapons such as swords, bows and spears. It is a quick, quiet visit that pairs well with the Old City sites. The UK FCDO currently advises against all but essential travel to Kano State, so check current travel advisories before you go.
