Gidan Makama Museum
📍 Kano Old City, Kano
A 15th-century building of traditional Hausa mud architecture, now a National Monument and museum run by the National Commission for Museums and Monuments. Its 11 galleries cover Kano's history, Islam, crafts, music, colonial times and daily life. It sits close to the Emir's Palace, so the two are easy to see together. The UK FCDO currently advises against all but essential travel to Kano State, so check current travel advisories before you go.
