Dala Hill
📍 Dala, Kano
The hill where Kano's earliest settlement began, with evidence of iron-working from around the 7th century; the city was once called Dala after it. A stairway leads to the top, which gives wide views over the Old City's rooftops. Go early in the morning or late afternoon to avoid the heat. The UK FCDO currently advises against all but essential travel to Kano State, so check current travel advisories before you go.
