Osun-Osogbo Sacred Grove

A 75-hectare sacred forest on the Osun River, inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 and regarded as the home of Osun, the Yoruba river goddess. Paths lead past around 40 shrines, sculptures by artists of the New Sacred Art movement and an old suspension bridge. There is an entry fee with extra charges for cameras; hire a guide and do not bathe or fish in the river.
