Cross River National Park
📍 Akamkpa, Cross River
National park of about 4,000 sq km in two divisions, Oban and Okwangwo, protecting rainforest home to drills, chimpanzees and the rare Cross River gorilla, plus over 350 bird species. The Kanyang tourist village, about an hour from Calabar, has a lodge, restaurant and wildlife museum and is the base for hiking and birdwatching. Arrange a ranger or guide before heading into the forest.
