A huge monolith rising about 725 metres above sea level on the Abuja–Kaduna road, in Niger State, and pictured on the 100 naira note. It is known as the Gateway to Abuja and is a common day trip, about 45 minutes from the city centre. Climbing takes several hours and needs a local guide, water and an early start; the dry season is best.
