Itoku Adire Market (Kemta Adire/Kampala Market)

One of Abeokuta's oldest markets and the town's best-known place to buy adire, the Yoruba indigo tie-and-dye cloth. Stalls sell fabric by the length alongside crafts, and in the Kemta production area you can watch dyers and decorators at work. Ask sellers to show you hand-dyed pieces, as cheaper machine-printed imitations are also sold.
