Olumo Rock Tourist Complex

Olumo Rock is the granite outcrop that gave Abeokuta ('under the rock') its name and sheltered the Egba people during 19th-century wars. The tourist complex has carved steps, a glass lift, caves, shrines, a small museum and a restaurant, and the summit gives wide views over the city and the Ogun River. Hire a guide at the gate for the history, and wear shoes with good grip.
